The Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics is a professional organization of educators dedicated to the improvement of mathematics education at all levels.  Membership is available to all persons and institutions interested in mathematics. Our association encourages a learning environment in which all students are engaged in meaningful mathematics using appropriate tools that promote mathematical reasoning, communication, problem solving and connections.

Our mission is to provide leadership by: promoting professional development  by sponsoring conferences which include the newest trends and techniques in mathematics curricula, instruction, assessment and technology; disseminating information on educational opportunities, issues in mathematics education, and effective instructional strategies; promoting professional and student excellence; forming liaisons with major projects involving mathematics, science and technology within the state; encouraging collaboration and networking with other professionals and organizations; and fostering public understanding, application and support of mathematics education.
